This project undertook a study to assess the economic potential and the fiscal position of local and regional governments in order to recommend a set of measures for improving local and regional resource mobilization, within the context of the fiscal decentralization reform currently carried out in Burkina Faso.é The project ensured that local and regional authorities are better equipped to mobilize resources in order to achieve the level of fiscal autonomy required to provide public services within jurisdictions that are gradually being transferred to local and regional governments. The projects main output was to assess the potential economic and financial situation of local-level governments and put forward measures for a better mobilization of the governments local-level financial resources.
