The Regional EU-ASEAN Dialogue Instrument (READI) Human Rights Facility (HRF) strengthened the ASEAN-EU Enhanced Partnership in the area of socio-cultural cooperation through the promotion of gender equality, the rights and welfare of women, children, the elderly, persons with disabilities and migrant workers. Its main focus was to assist regional integration around Human Rights cooperation initiatives and ASEAN. The facility supported policy dialogue, capacity building and networking to advance the priority areas of the ASEAN Human Rights Declaration (AHRD). This facility undertook programming to: enhance concrete action plans for the integration and contribution to the ASEAN Secretariat in the area of human rights; improve the institutional capacity of the ASEAN insitutions and ASEAN member states in human rights; and strengthen ASEAN-EU network in areas of human rights.
