Pacific Value Chain Analysis

Oceania - Pacific

2021-2022
World Bank
USD 110,450

As part of its support to foster competitiveness and economic development in the Pacific, the World Bank is developing new analytics on value chains to better understand how countries in the region can unlock opportunities to extract more value from existing and emerging exports. To fill knowledge gaps on barriers to export competitiveness in the Pacific, Cowater New Zealand prepares studies on selected sectors in the PICs and PNG (coconut and fish/seafood products), with a primary focus on value addition, product upgrading, market diversification and job creation. In each of these value chains, the study will take stock of current export performances, summarize the most critical challenges faced by producers and exporters to upgrade products and reach new markets, identify potential drivers of competitiveness and economic integration, and suggest interventions at the national and regional levels to unlock such opportunities.
