Implemented by Cowater International, and funded by DFAT Australia, GREAT is a flagship initiative that aims to improve the socio-economic status of women, with a specific focus on ethnic minority women living in the Northwestern Vietnamese provinces of Son La and Lao Cai. Progress towards the Project’s aim is achieved by increasing the participation in, and income derived from, the following two sectors: agricultural production and tourism. Such activities empower women to take on leadership and decision-making roles; engage women as producers, suppliers, traders, and entrepreneurs; ensure operations are gender-sensitive; and improve sector governance and policies, enabling more inclusive development.
