In this edition, the Quarterly Newsletter provides updates on how GREAT and its Partners are responding to COVID-19, information on activities taking place, and personal stories shared by women beneficiaries of the Program. GREAT is a flagship initiative, implemented by Cowater International, and funded by DFAT Australia, that aims to improve the socio-economic status of women, with a specific focus on ethnic minority women living in the Northwestern Vietnamese provinces of Son La and Lao Cai. Progress towards the Project’s aim is achieved by increasing the participation in, and income derived from, the following two sectors: agricultural production and tourism. Such activities empower women to take on leadership and decision-making roles; engage women as producers, suppliers, traders, and entrepreneurs; ensure operations are gender-sensitive; and improve sector governance and policies, enabling more inclusive development.
