Cowater awarded new contract to strengthen the investment climate and improve economic development in Indonesia

January 8, 2016

Global Affairs Canada (GAC) recently selected Cowater to manage and implement the National Support for Local Investment Climates Project in Indonesia.  The six-year, 17.3M CAD project will support the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas) to implement the Government of Indonesia’s local and regional economic development strategy. Project activities will increase employment and incomes for the people of Indonesia through a strengthened investment climate with more sustainable and competitive enterprises, and will train national and local government officials in regulatory reform and economic development planning, using mechanisms such as inter-regional cooperation and public-private partnerships (PPPs).

Cowater has a long standing history in Indonesia and has implemented many projects on behalf of GAC, the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.  This project will be managed under Cowater’s Economic Development service line.
