The Pakistan Environment Program (PEP) project was a six-year CAD 5M initiative undertaken with the financial support of the Government of Canada provided through Global Affairs Canada (GAC). The initiative focused on building a strong civil society to advocate for and collaborate with sub-national governments for the implementation of the Pakistan National Conservation Strategy (NCS). Involving multiple partners, from central to local levels, the project built the capacity and enhanced the performance of civil society entities to provide effective leadership; technical assistance; and catalyst inputs needed for the participatory implementation of the NCS in all provinces and over 120 communities across the country.
