Auditor Generals Capacity Enhancement Project

Cowater worked with the Office of the Federal Auditor General (OFAG), Ethiopias Supreme Audit Institution, on this CAD $4.49 million seven-year project (2003-2010). Working with OFAG, as well as two of the Regional Audit Offices, Cowaters project improved auditing capacity through the development and enhancement of audit policy manuals, together with supporting guidelines, methodologies, and training materials to reflect best practices and international standards. ACE introduced international standards and best practices in key audit areas such as compliance audit, fraud and forensic audit, information technology audit, and environmental audit undertook a comprehensive training program for audit staff, including study tours and training programs in Canada. The project strengthened and supported linkages between the Federal and Regional Audit Offices as well as those with other stakeholder including media and the Parliamentary Committees responsible for overseeing audit reporting.
